Education
We provide education to those interested in becoming more self-sufficient, whether at a small or large-scale. Every step helps. This comes in many forms, including instructional videos and live chats on our YouTube channel, community interactions on our Friends of Sow and Tare facebook group, events, and workshops to help you to improve your self-sufficient knowledge. We also encourage people to attend events and take courses outside of Sow and Tare such as the National Heirloom Expo, Quail Con, and Quail University courses.

Quail hatching kits and educational curricula! Do you want to hatch chicks without buying the equipment? Do you want the hatching experience and don't want to raise chicks up to adult quail? This program is perfect for you! Each hatching kit comes with everything you need to hatch quail chicks plus a brooder! It's a rental, so you don't have to pay for all the equipment or have a place to store it. You can choose to keep the chicks or give them back once the hatching experience is completed! Vermiculture Workshops

Learn all about composting with worms! You can turn most of your kitchen waste into worm castings, otherwise known as "black gold". Worm castings are nutrient rich for your plants and your plants will love it! Quail University: Quail 101
~Anytime & at your own pace!~

Quail University is an excellent program teaching all you need to know about raising Coturnix quail. Quail 101 is the first in several courses to be released! Whether you have raised quail for a long time or you are thinking about raising quail, you are guaranteed to learn a lot, and at $49, this course is a steal! 11th National Heirloom Expo
~September 10-12, 2024~

Meet me in person! This event is held by Baker Creek and is an international event with international speakers all about growing heirlooms! They even have heirloom breeds of chickens (depending on the current status of the avian influenza outbreak). If you're in to gardening or self-sufficiency in any way, this is an excellent event! Meet me in person! I will be hosting a Master Class on Raising Quail Alongside Rabbits at Quail & Homesteading Con 2024! Yep, that's right folks, there is a Quail Convention! Quail Con is an annual event hosted by Myshire Farm in Miamisburg, Ohio. Myshire Farm has been a successful quail farm for over 10 years! Speakers from all across the country will be there.
